Sylvie Taliss is the adopted sister of Calanthe and Rosalee LaBelle, and a resident of the Lepidoptera Estate. Sylvie was raised in Division Five and went on missions from a young age but when Sylvie became a offical member of the Alpheratz Union

• Sylvie is the French and Czech form of Silvia which is the feminine form of Silvius derived from Latin silva meaning "wood, forest". Rhea Silvia was the mother of Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome. This was also the name of a 6th-century saint, the mother of the pope Gregory the Great. It has been a common name in Italy since the Middle Ages. It was introduced to England by Shakespeare, who used it for a character in his play The Two Gentlemen of Verona (1594).
